Cindy Kelly Update; Worship on 7/25; King's Kids Begins

Dear St. Paul's Congregation,

"Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for You are with me" (Psalm 23). Today, I do not have good news about our dear sister in Christ, Cindy Kelly. The doctors are coming to the end of their remedies for her brain cancer, and are now utilizing very strong chemotherapy and infusing it directly into her spinal fluid. So far, Cindy has not responded to this therapy. The continued prayers of the people of God are needed at this point, not only for Cindy, but also for the entire family.

Cindy Kelly Blog; "Worthy" Worship Service on Wednesday

Dear St. Paul's Family,

Just a quick reminder that tomorrow night, our worship team is sharing a special service with the St. Paul's Congregation. The worship time will be called Worthy--A Night of Worship. The service will start at 7:00 p.m., and end at 9:00 p.m.

Now, about Cindy Kelly. Missy Kelly (Ryan's wife) is writing a blog, which will keep you updated on Cindy.

Update on Cindy Kelly

Dear St. Paul's Congregation,

Cindy Kelly was moved to Saint Louis University Hospital early last week, after her condition started to deteriorate at the St. John's Mercy Rehab Center. It was later determined that cancer cells had invaded the fluid around her brain.

Since that time, Cindy's condition has not improved. The doctors have begun injecting chemotherapy directly into her spinal fluid. That caused some seizures on Sunday, July 18th. Furthermore, her blood pressure went so low it had to be supported with medication.

Now, all of Cindy's family is in town.

Sunday, July 18: Mary, Martha and Time Management

Dear St. Paul's Congregation,

This is a big weekend at our church. Keith Kozlowski and Emma Dahl will be married on Saturday. Congratulations, Keith and Emma! Then, on Sunday, our focus will be on Luke 10:38-42, and the familiar story of Mary and Martha. The sermon is entitled, Being With Jesus, and it will actually include a time during the message for you to spend some time with Jesus.

Missionaries Jim and Houtef will be with us this Sunday.

Update on Cindy Kelly

Dear St. Paul's Congregation,

Cindy Kelly and her family received bad news today. The cancer has spread to the fluid which surrounds her brain. The doctors are inserting a port and will administer chemotherapy to her spinal/brain fluid.

This makes the prognosis for Cindy very poor. Now, prayer is our only hope. Let us turn to God with strong prayer for Jack, John (Angie), Ryan (Missy), Tommy, Michael and Katie.

"We are more than conquerors through him who loved us." (Romans 8:37).

Let us stand together as God's people.

Pastor Mark Friz

Summer Series from Luke 10-13 begins this Sunday

Dear St. Paul's Congregation,

Our lectionary leads us into the Gospel of Luke this Summer. This Sunday, July 11, Pastor Mark's sermon is based on the Parable of the Good Samartian, and is called, Loving Your Neighbor (Luke 10:25-37). Then, on July 18, our theme will be Being With Jesus (Luke 10:38-42).

The Men's Chorus will sing To God be the Glory this Sunday. We will also commission Stephen Ministry Leaders in both services.
