A Foundation for the Next Generation

When I was in high school, I remember a T-Shirt which read, “You laugh because I’m different. I laugh because you are all the same.” One day I sat in class where two people had that exact same T-Shirt on, sitting at desks right beside each other. At the time, I just thought it was funny. Looking back, I realize something much deeper was going on.

MLK, and the Bible’s Unique Contribution to Racial Reconciliation

With the state of race relations what it is today (Ferguson, Charlotte, etc…), I thought it may be pertinent to go back to the greatest Civil Rights leader in American history. The Changing Labels of Christianity

What do the words “flirt,” “awful,” and “senile” have in common? They all used to mean something radically different than they do today.                According to the Pew Research Center, America has not been as divided as it currently is since the Civil War. Let that sink in for a second. Not even the political changes of the 60’s and 70’s compare to the division we see today. And unlike the Civil War, the divide is no longer geographical. It is now in every neighborhood and family, even within individual homes and between friends.

The Bible Speaks - Legos or TV?

Why get out of bed? Most mornings, I think we’d all like to roll over and go back to sleep. If that’s just because we need some rest, great. But the Bible tells us of a character who wants nothing more than to sleep in, every day. A person who looks for any excuse to stay home. A person whose entire life is characterized by an unwillingness to produce. He is the sluggard.

Acts 4:23: “When they were released, they went to their friends and reported what the chief priests and the elders had said to them.”
