About St. Paul's

For over 165 years, St. Paul's Evangelical Church has been at the corner of Warson and Olive, serving the communities of Creve Coeur, Olivette, and the surrounding St. Louis area. We are affiliated with the Evangelical Free Church of America. We have a passion to spread the good news of salvation through Jesus Christ our Lord; not only in our own community, but throughout the world. We share our facilities with Bible Study Fellowship, the Beit Tefilah Messianic Congregation, and the Shamah French African Congregation as we reach out to the St. Louis community.

Check out the pages in this section to get more information about who we are. For information on our location and service times, check out our Visitor Information pages.

The purpose of St. Paul’s Church is to:

  • Praise and glorify God through worship,
  • Bring people to faith in Jesus Christ and fellowship in His family,
  • Develop individuals into Christian disciples,
  • Equip these disciples for service in the church, and
  • Help them fulfill God's mission in the world.

St. Paul’s Current Vision Statement:

  • Strengthening families and relationships through the love of Christ

St. Paul's Core Values:

  • LOVE   -   Loving God and Others
We unconditionally love God and all people through our words and actions, as God loves us.

Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law?  Jesus replied: "Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind."  This is the first and greatest commandment.  And the second is like it:  'Love your neighbor as yourself.'      Matthew 22:36-39 (NIV1984)

Love is patient, love is kind.  It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud.  It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs.  Love does not delight in evil, but rejoices with the truth.  It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres,  Love never fails.  But where there are prophesies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away.        1 Corinthians 13:4-8a (NIV1984)

  • SERVANTHOOD   -   Serving Like the Son
We unselfishly serve others in everything we do, putting their needs and interests before our own.

Sitting down, Jesus called the Twelve and said, "If anyone wants to be first, he must be the very last, and the servant of all."      Mark 9:35 (NIV1984)

Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit, but in humility consider others better than yourselves.  Each of you should look not only to your own interests, but also to the interests of others.    Phillipians 2:3-4 (NIV1984)

  • BOLDNESS   -   Boldly Proclaiming the Gospel
We unapologetically testify to the saving grace of Jesus Christ through the Power of the Holy Spirit.

I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God for the salvation of everyone who believes; first for the Jew, then for the Gentile.  For in the gospel a righteousness from God is revealed, a righteousness that is by faith from first to last, just as it is written:  "The righteous will live by faith."    Romans 1:16-17 (NIV1984)

After they prayed, the place where they were meeting was shaken.  And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and spoke the word of God boldly.  Acts 4:31 (NIV1984)

  • FAITHFULNESS   -   Faithfully Trusting God’s Word
We unswervingly trust in God’s Word and apply it to our lives in both good times and bad.

Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets;  I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them.  I tell you the truth, until heaven and earth disappear, not the smallest letter, not the least stroke of a pen, will by any means disappear from the Law until everything is accomplished.   Matthew 5:17-18 (NIV1984)

All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting, and training in righteousness    2 Timothy 3:16 (NIV1984)
